Enfamil Pregestimil with Lipil Powder 1 lb. Can is a hypoallergenic formula that provides complete nutrition for infants experiencing gastrointestinal and malabsorption problems. It contains 55% of fat composed from Medium-Chain Triglycerides (MCT) and also includes recommended Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and Arachidonic acid (ARA), similar to natural breastmilk, to help promote brain and eye development.
According to manufacturer guidelines, the milk powder can be stored at room temperature. Once the can has been opened, it must be kept tightly covered and stored in a dry area. Powder must be consumed within 1 month from being opened and should not be frozen or exposed to excessive heat. It should also be consumed by the date on the bottom of the can.
Once milk has been prepared, it must be consumed within 2 hours if unrefrigerated. However, once feeding has begun, the milk should be consumed within an hour. If the milk is covered and stored in a refrigerator (approx 35-40°F or 2–4°C) prior feeding, shelf life can be extended to up to 24 hours only. Manufacturer strongly discourages primary caregivers from using a microwave to warm formula milk drink as it may cause serious burns.
