Polyskin II Transparent Dressing

Polyskin II Transparent Dressing manufactured by Kendall for Covidien is a transparent dressing used to dress wounds. The dressing consists of a thin polymer layer that is coated in a hypoallergenic adhesive. The dressing protects the wound from outside moisture and micro-organisms, while still allowing the wound to breathe through a highly permeable film that allows moisture and oxygen through. The dressing improves breathability and allows the dressing to be worn from 2-7 days. A simple, effective delivery system allows for one-handed application. The dressings are ideal for IV sites, donor sites, burns, ulcers, and sutures. It is impermeable to external liquid and microorganisms and provides better adhesion in moist environments.
