Eye/Ear Care
24 products
Eye & Ear Care pertains to a variety of products and items used to take care of the eyes & ears. Some of those that fall under this category include eye drops, ear drops, wax removal kit, and so on. Oftentimes, these two body parts need constant sensitive care because of their role in our lives.
When our eyes are tired and dry, having items that can help address these symptoms will benefit you in the long run, preventing further complications. The same is true with dry, itchy, or perpetually wet ears. Protecting your senses from these minor conditions will ensure you and your eyes and ears stay healthy longer.
Tips on Caring for your Ears
When we’re always on the go and our lives are hectic, ear care is the last thing we may think of. However, taking good care of your ears helps prevent hearing loss and damage especially when you’re young. Here are three tips to taking care of your ears:
-
Turn the volume down
When we think about listening to music, the time we listen is not a part of the consideration. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 1 billion young adults may potentially lose hearing due to the unsafe use of audio devices. For a better and more pleasurable experience for the long run, try applying the 60/60 rule–– listen with headphones at no more than 60% volume for no more than 60 minutes at a time. This may be challenging at first but if you need music in your life, try opting for speakers instead of headphones or earbuds so that the risks are lower.
-
Refrain from using cotton swabs
Cotton swabs are a common routine for most of us after a bath, but this really isn’t advisable. Our ear has a mechanism to clean itself without our help and a good amount of wax is healthy to do that. The more we use cotton swabs, the more we are at risk of pushing in wax near the eardrum. If the itch comes, make sure to stay within the outer ear and refrain from digging too deep.
Tips on Eye Care
Just like your ears, your eyes are also in need of some TLC. Taking care of your eyes can help you evade conditions such as vertigo, glaucoma, partial, or even full blindness. Being mindful of what we do with our eyes will help us enjoy more of the sights around us. Here are some tips on eye care:
-
Wear sunglasses
Protect your eyes from the sun as much as possible. Exposing yourself to too much sunlight and UV rays may increase the risk of macular degeneration and may cause some conditions such as cornea sunburn or photokeratitis. More than just adding to your sense of style, sunglasses that have a UV-protective lens will help you protect yourself from squinting and add more stress to the eyes. Caps and hats can also help you protect yourself.
-
Refrain from rubbing eyes
Our hands are exposed to a lot of germs and bacteria every day from what we touch and putting it close to your eye can transfer those contaminants easily, especially if you rub it. Refrain from doing this as much as possible to prevent infection and irritation. If it is already a habit, try to become more aware when you do it or use a handkerchief or clean cloth instead.
The eyes and ears deserve as much attention as the rest of our body, and taking our time to care for them will ensure that we have these senses intact for as long as we live. These eye & ear care tips and more can help you make a habit of the things you can do to help maintain healthy and happy ears and eyes!
