The gel overlay distributes pressure evenly while its full length "head-to-toe" gel bladders minimize "bottoming out" and "pitting". These bladders Bladders contain an aqueous non-toxic gel and polystyrene beads to resist gel migration. This bed guard has 15 gel bladders that cover the entire patient contact area to prevent, treat, and provide relief of pressure ulcers. The premium guard gel overlay is covered in urethane coated nylon material that makes it waterproof and vapor permeable. The convoluted foam top promotes air circulation and adds patient comfort. The base is made in vinyl that is waterproof and stain resistant as well. The gel mattress has 4 elastic corner straps to secure it in place.
